Campus Ministries

At USF campus ministries isn’t just something that happens in a corner. Campus ministries is tied into every aspect of the university; it’s a vibrant thread that pulls us together as a community. Our focus is on faith and service, so no matter what denomination you are, you’ll feel welcome.

About Campus Ministries

A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another.
John 13:34 (NIV)

The role of campus ministries is to come along side students, faculty and staff to assist them in the work of integrating faith and learning. It’s our mission to provide pastoral care, plan chapel services, coordinate small groups and connect students with service opportunities to help USF be faithful to its calling.

Campus ministries assists students, faculty and staff in their journey to Christian maturity by providing leadership, nurturing experiences and programming that stimulates them to accomplish the following:

Our offices are located in the lower level of the McDonald Center and Chapel is held in Z-Hall, located in the Salsbury Science Center.

Opportunities to Serve

You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden.
Matthew 5:14 (NIV)

Our motto is Culture for Service. With a motto like that, you can bet you’ll have plenty of ways to serve others. A few of the annual service opportunities include the following:

USF students also take mission trips and work with ministries around the world. Students help plan and raise funds for mission trips and opportunities to spread the word to places like Mexicali, Mexico during interim, Rosebud Indian Reservation during spring break and church camps during summer vacation.

The only prerequisites to participate are a desire to make a difference for Christ and a willingness to work with a team. USF students, faculty and staff and alumni have served, and are serving, throughout the United States and internationally.

Chapel

For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.
John 3:16 (NIV)

Chapel is held every Tuesday at 10 a.m. in the Salsbury Science Center. While attendance is encouraged, it’s not required. If you go, you’ll hear sermons geared toward you, enjoy worship music, witness incredible guest speakers and be inspired by fellow students, faculty and staff who are doing great things in the Lord’s name. Chapel is led by Pastor Dennis Thum, who is often joined by guests as part of the service. Come as you are every Tuesday.
