You’ve Been Accepted
Congratulations!
You have just a few more steps to take before becoming an official USF Cougar. Review the checklist below or download a copy here.
1. Visit Campus for Accepted Student Day
Register for Accepted Student Day on February 18 or March 22. If these dates don’t work, schedule a campus visit online or by calling the Admissions Office at 800-888-1047 or by emailing admissions at usiouxfalls.edu.
2. Submit your Tuition Deposit before New Student Registration Day
Confirm your enrollment by submitting your $100 tuition deposit. This deposit allows you to register for classes and secures your spot at USF. The tuition deposit applies to your first semester’s tuition and fees. This deposit if fully refundable until May 1 and may be submitted online, through mail or by calling admissions at 800-888-1047.
3. Discover Scholarship Opportunities and use the
Net Price Calculator
There are several automatic academic scholarships for freshmen and transfer students, along with other scholarships that may require other documentation, so check out the Financial Aid website for more information. Discover other financial aid awards that you may be eligible for in 2013.
4. Provide Immunization Documentation before New Student Registration Day
Complete the Student Health form and provide record of TWO properly administered immunizations or immune titers for Measles (Rubeola), Rubella and Mumps prior to registering for classes.
5. Submit your FAFSA
Complete a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) at www.fafsa.ed.gov as soon as possible after January 1, 2013, and include the USF school code (003469). It is important to remember that USF has a priority filing date of March 1, 2013, for the FAFSA. The FAFSA allows you to be considered for aid from Federal Financial Aid Programs. It is highly recommended that you submit the FAFSA, even if you think your family may not qualify.
6. Complete and Submit your Housing Application
Complete your housing application (or request an exemption), your $50 housing deposit and your student health forms.
7. Receive a Financial Aid Award Package
The USF Financial Aid Office will begin awarding financial aid packages for fall 2013 after March 1, 2013. You will receive two copies of your Official Award Notification, one for you to keep and one for you to sign and return to USF. All financial aid packages are unique and differ from student-to-student and school-to-school. Your admissions counselor will call you to make sure you understand your Official Award Notification, but never hesitate to contact your admissions counselor first if you have questions.

9. Move-in Day, Welcome Week and New Student Orientation
Labor Day 2013 – Monday, September 2 – is move-in day for freshmen. If you’re an athlete who begins practice in August, you’ll move into the residence halls in August. Move-in day is exciting, and, of course, parents and families are welcome.
New Student Orientation is required of all freshmen and starts at 1:30 p.m. on Move-in Day. Orientation is the first student-only event of Welcome Week, a week designed for freshmen. It includes informative sessions, Academic Convocation and fun activities designed to help you begin new friendships.
